📦 How to Package Your Card Submission for GCA (Graded Cards Australia)

Want to avoid delays and extra fees when submitting your cards to GCA? Proper packaging is key to keeping your turnaround time on track and ensuring your cards arrive safely and ready for grading.

Here’s your step-by-step guide to get it right the first time:

✅ What You’ll Need:

  • 📄 Submission Form Printout

  • 🛡️ Clear Penny Sleeves

  • 📏 Semi-Rigid Card Holders (3 5/16" x 4 7/8")

  • 📦 Sturdy Cardboard Dividers

  • 🧵 2–3 Rubber Bands

  • 📮 New Shipping Box (No Envelopes)

  • 🫧 Bubble Wrap

  • 📦 Packing Tape

🃏 Step 1: Sleeve Each Card in a Clear Penny Sleeve

Use transparent, clear penny sleeves only. Avoid using colored, frosted, or thick premium sleeves—these cause processing delays and can lead to extra handling charges.

📐 Step 2: Insert Sleeved Cards into Semi-Rigid Card Holders

Carefully slide each card into a semi-rigid holder. For standard-sized cards, use holders that measure 3 5/16" x 4 7/8".

Do not use top loaders.
❌ No tape, sticky notes, or pull tabs.
✅ Keep both sides of the card completely visible.

🗂️ Step 3: Arrange Cards in Submission Order

Match the exact order on your submission form.
Item #1 goes on top, then Item #2, and so on. This makes grading faster and prevents confusion.

📏 Step 4: Bundle with Cardboard & Rubber Bands

Place the stack between two cardboard sheets, then wrap with 2–3 rubber bands. Tight enough to keep things snug, but loose enough to avoid bending or pressure damage.

🫧 Step 5: Bubble Wrap & Box It Up

Wrap the bundle in bubble wrap and place it in a new, clean shipping box. Fill any extra space with more bubble wrap or packing paper to stop movement during transit.

❗ No reused boxes or padded envelopes—they don’t protect as well and can get damaged easily.

📄 Step 6: Include Your Submission Form

Always include a printed copy of your GCA submission form inside the box.
Sending multiple submissions? Bundle and label each one clearly.

📬 Step 7: Seal It Up

Use strong packing or security tape to seal all seams of the box.
Avoid weak tape types like painters tape or thin office tape. Give your package a professional finish.

🔖 Step 8: Attach Your Shipping Label

Stick your tracking label directly onto the box using a printable label or clear tape. Make sure barcodes are fully visible.

Avoid using label pouches or taping over barcodes—this can slow down intake.

📍 Final Tip: Double-Check the Address

Make sure you’re sending to the correct GCA location listed on your confirmation email. Proper labeling ensures your submission lands in the right hands without delay.
